Summary
Baylor College of Medicine Facility Services is seeking a Carpenter who will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed. Carpenters will build, repair or maintain research labs, offices and buildings.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7AM-4PM. Employees are required to exert physical effort during a portion (up to 4 hours) of a normal work shift in handling objects over 50 pounds.
Job Duties
- Assembles casework items for construction projects.
- Builds or modify epoxy or laminate counter-tops.
- Installs aluminum framing, commercial doors, metal studs and sheetrock.
- Works from drawings or verbal instructions.
- Repairs high grade articles of furniture such as cabinets, chairs, store fixtures, and office equipment.
- Performs carpentry duties using a variety of carpentry hand and power tools.
- Maintains clean work area and assists lead carpenter in cleaning up completed projects.
- Cuts out wood trim and plastic laminates for case work projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade or Technical School.
