Join our dynamic team at Somewhere Nowhere NYC, a vibrant nightclub, lounge, and event venue located at the top of the Renaissance NY Chelsea Hotel. We are currently seeking talented, energetic, and ambitious individuals to become an integral part of our culinary team. As the Chef at Somewhere Nowhere, you will lead the daily operations of our kitchen, serving as the first-in-command on a day-to-day basis. Your key responsibility will be to manage and oversee all other food preparation associates, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. This role is hands-on, requiring you to collaborate closely with a small team while maintaining the highest standards in executing SWNW's culinary program.

Responsibilities:
- Event & Catering Menu seasonal development & execution
- Menu Development, Quality Control, Mentoring, Expediting, Private Events and Catering
- Scheduling, Purchasing, Inventory; ensuring all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards
- Responsible for the overall food quality and presentation
- Profit & Loss Analysis; maximizing sales while minimizing costs, analyzing sales figures and forecasts
- Kitchen Staff scheduling & Labor Costs Management
- Create & Maintain a Positive Work Environment and strong sense of team work and cooperation among all staff
- Health Department Regulation Compliance; maintaining kitchen facilities and equipment
- Employee Training & Development; communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Leadership and Conflict Resolution skills; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employee
Requirements for Success:
- Advanced and accurate knife skills
- Ability to read and follow recipes and standards
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Capability to teach and mentor others
- Experience with a variety of cooking styles and techniques
- Ability to adapt and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years management experience required
- Tripleseat experience a plus
