Children's Art Instructor

Objective: To ensure smooth operations of art classes that are held on DLCCC premises and assist students in real-time with classroom needs.

Job Summary and Scope :

Looking for a part time art instructor for children’s art programming through the Holmes Art Cellar from May to September 2025. Specific programs include facilitating an art project for the Street Faire at the Lakes, developing lesson plans and instructing up to 10 children per session in the Summer in Color program (Kids ages 7-12) and any additional family arts programming to be developed over the summer months. Teaching experience preferred by not required. Must be comfortable working with children and in different art forms. Pay offered is $15/hour.

Key duties and tasks:

• To be present at all times when teaching a class to ensure client satisfaction during the event.

• To provide a welcoming and helpful environment for class attendees.

• Communicate with art manager.

• To ensure proper cleanliness and orderly appearance of facilities during class and execute some basic cleaning duties as needed.

• Documenting and reporting to art manager any damages on facilities or property during classes.

• Communicating class attendee feedback to art manager in a timely manner.

• Assist with additional DLCCC classes and programming as needed.

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Excellent logistical and communication skills with great attention to detail and follow through.

• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Required Availability Dates:

Street Faire at the Lakes: May 30th 10am-7pm, May 31st 10am – 5pm.

Summer in color Programs: 10am-12pm.

June 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27.

July 8, 11, 15, 18, 21, 25, 29.

August 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 18, 22.

Position & Salary Range:

• Reports to the Art Manager.

• Is a part-time, “at will” position.

• Non-typical office hours are necessary (weekends/evenings).
