Details- Full-time- Shift: Day- Opportunities for growth- Full, comprehensive benefits package (PTO, health insurance, life insurance, 401k, etc) Requirements- Bachelor"s degree- ASCP certification- Prior lab experience and knowledge Responsibilities- Examines prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities.- Using diagnostic codes, report negative cases and refers abnormal cases to the pathologists for review.- Keeps records of work performed on daily basis.- Responsible for maintaining the microscope in working condition.- May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to the pathologists for final diagnosis.- Participates in all continuing education programs. Maintains record of work performed.- Responsible for the cytologic studies of specimens and for the initial screening and reporting of normal GYN cases, referring all abnormal cases for pathology review. - May read Non-GYN and report the findings to the pathologists for final review and reporting. - Promotes quality relations and creates supportive climate by serving as a role model. - Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to the laboratory. - Adheres to all laboratory policies and regulations. - Works with minimal direction. - Functions as a liaison between the laboratory and laboratory clients.
