The Company: Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009 with the mission to "honor God by serving others with love and compassion." We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living services, memory care, and skilled nursing services. Because Meadowbrook is a licensed retirement community, employees may not accept tips, but residents are able to contribute to an appreciation fund that is distributed as a bonus. Shift Availability: Full-time, 30-40 hours per week. The dining room is closed on Sundays. Server shifts are from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm (no breakfast service). The supervisor does not need to be present during all shift times but should ensure that scheduled staff are able to provide quality service to residents and guests. Job Description: We're looking for reliable and experienced individual to lead our dining staff in providing accurate and cheerful service to our residents. Many residents look forward not only to the food but also to the social aspect of eating in the dining room, and we want our leadership to set the tone for an enjoyable place to gather. We offer delivery and dine-in services for lunch and dinner Mondays through Saturdays, a monthly Saturday brunch, and a variety of special events/themed dinners throughout the year. The Dining Room Supervisor will coordinate with the Chef and the Activities Director on these events. Some of our facilities are available to be rented by residents, family members, or the broader community. When food services are requested, the Dining Room Supervisor takes the lead on communicating with the customer and other staff as needed. Qualifications: To carry out these responsibilities successfully, the Dining Room Supervisor should have the following qualities:

  • Desires to patiently and compassionately serve our senior population
  • Enjoys cultivating a positive environment for both diners and servers
  • Able and willing to lead by example and through appropriate training
  • Eager to work as a team with other employees from the same and different departments to address resident needs and create a good experience
  • Interact professionally with residents, guests, and staff, including adhering to HIPAA confidentiality to maintain resident dignity
  • Come to work on time and as scheduled, communicating with the supervisor if any issues arise
  • Speak clearly and patiently with residents who may have hearing difficulties
  • Prior professional food service experience required
  • Available to work on Saturdays and holidays as needed
  • Able to lift at least 40 lbs. work while standing, and bend, stretch, pull, push, etc. as needed for serving tasks
All employees are required to pass a fingerprinted criminal background check, health screening, TB test, and drug test.
