Position Overview: An Estimator is responsible for preparing a clear and detailed estimate based upon a thorough review of the architectural drawings and specifications for residential projects from bid to hand off to the Project Management department. Responsibilities: Responsible for reviewing assigned project invitations and working as part of the sales and marketing team in gathering all information needed to complete a proposal Must be able to assign fabrication, finish, and installation time to each piece of millwork. Participate in communication with customers in a timely manner (via phone and/or email) to understand project requirements, goals, and post bid questions Once awarded, provide a detailed and hand-off to Project Management. Understand architectural millwork including cabinets, doors, and other custom architectural details (metal, leather) as well as a strong understanding of standard building construction methods to include AWI guidelines. Handle multiple tasks in a deadline orientated environment Skills Needed: Maintain a willingness to engage in tasks/challenges beyond stated responsibilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure in a consistent and positive manner. Collaborator able to work in cooperation with others. Operates as an owner and takes accountability for results. Excellent oral, and written communication skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided via phone, email, or architectural plans. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office 365, including Excel software; Bluebeam software and CAD (AutoCAD/Revit/Sketch-Up) experience a plus.
