General Manager

Unapologetic Foods , the team behind some of NYC’s most celebrated and innovative restaurants ( SEMMA, DHAMAKA, MASALAWALA, ADDA, NAKS ), is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and driven  General Manager (GM)to lead one of our restaurants. Our group is known for pushing boundaries, celebrating bold flavors, and delivering unforgettable dining experiences. About the Role:

As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day management, exceptional guest experiences, and the development of a motivated and high-performing team. You’ll embody our company values and work closely with Director of Operations to drive both operational excellence and financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all FOH and BOH operations, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and hospitality.
• Lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of managers, chefs, and staff.
• Manage scheduling, labor costs, inventory, and vendor relationships to meet financial goals.
• Foster a positive workplace culture that prioritizes teamwork, respect, and growth.
• Drive guest satisfaction through proactive problem-solving, attention to detail, and a hands-on leadership approach.
• Collaborate with ownership and corporate teams to implement brand initiatives, marketing efforts, and operational strategies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L statements, and cost control.
• Passion for hospitality and a deep understanding of creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
• Knowledge of or interest in global cuisines, especially Indian and South Asian flavors, is a plus.
