Host

Summary of position: 

Provide friendly, responsive, informative service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Tell culinary stories about Twelvemonth that illustrate our commitment to vegetable-forward creativity and sustainability. Each host's primary objective is to exceed guest expectations at the start of their experience creating a marvelous first impression such that they will want to return again and again.

Duties & Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

• Welcome and greet guests with warm and caring demeanor. Make all our guests feel comfortable and inform them of dining and beverage options. Inform first time guests about our dining options in the dining room and bar areas.
• Use the guest and reservation notes if applicable to confirm any details; celebrations, return visit, etc.
• Seat guests in coordination with other members of the host team.
• Manage rotation through server sections to efficiently seat guests relative to active servers.
• Physically guide guests to the table and present menus
• Update reservations and floor map in Opentable.
• Answer phones, return voicemails and make proactive phone calls.
• Book reservations.
• Confirm reservations.
• Place takeout orders.
• Handle event inquiries and take notes for events management.
• Take detailed notes on other inquiries for management to return phone calls.
• Clean and restock menus.
• Bathroom checks and restocks periodically throughout shift.

Qualifications:

• Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Full weekend availability.
• Be passionate about the hospitality industry.
• Fine Dining experience a big plus
