Position Summary:
The Laborer is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials per all company policies, procedures, and standards of operation. The laborer is also responsible for working with other facility personnel to ensure the facility is operated and maintained in a clean, safe/ and efficient manner. This position will be outside and will be working in various weather conditions.
Your Role:
- Communicate with delivery drivers to effectively secure and/or empty refuse products in the proper unloading location.
- Switch rail cars
- Receive and safely unload refuse products always using the Company's operating procedures.
- Identify and classify various waste streams to ensure safe plant operations.
- Respond to and clean spills immediately using necessary tools (e.g., rake, broom, hose, etc.) and dispose of spilled material and all contaminated articles using appropriate Company procedures.
- Monitor facility cleanliness and take appropriate steps to pick up litter and debris.
- Operates other equipment including, but not limited to industrial forklifts, man lifts, skid steer types of loaders, and other mobile equipment.
- Work overtime and rotating shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time.
- Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
- Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.

Desirable, although not essential, requirements:
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience in an industrial environment
- Two years experience in an industrial environment as a Material Handler or comparable position is a plus.
- Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.
- Good follow-up through the ability
- Ability to adhere to a work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise.
