Growth Orthopedics is hiring a full-time Financial Analyst in Portland, Maine.
Growth Orthopedics (GO) is seeking a Financial Analyst to work in a dynamic environment supporting local Orthopedic Practice and Surgery center. We are looking for long-term team members who will embrace GOs ethics and can assist us in our continued planning and execution of our Strategic and Operational plans.
This position will work in Matrix environment with dual reporting responsibility Director of Finance (Local Leadership) and Growth Orthopedics (Accounting/Finance Manager) with solid line reporting to the Practice/ASC and specific (accounting and finance) tasks overseen by Growth Orthopedics. This is a hybrid position, with a required in-office presence each week.
Job Overview : The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning for the practice, ambulatory surgery center, and related ancillary services. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into practice performance.
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and capital requirements.
- Coordinate with practice finance and operations teams to ensure provider-level reporting is accurate, complete and timely.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue-enhancing strategies.
- Perform variance analysis to compare actual financial performance with budgeted figures and identify key trends.
- Support the clinics Director of Finance in decision-making by providing financial reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
- Evaluate profitability and financial viability of new initiatives, service lines, or business opportunities.
- Ensure financial compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the practices operations.
- Work cross-functionally with clinical and administrative teams to optimize financial processes and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in healthcare or a medical setting.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and accounting software (experience with healthcare-specific software is a plus).
- Proficient in data analyses using spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications, and can translate financial understanding into operational initiatives to be reviewed and implemented by the operations teams as appropriate.
- Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines and respond to change.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing.
