Job Title: Scientist I
Location: Cornelia, GA (with possible travel to Athens, Flowery Branch, Baldwin, GA)
Pay: $23/hr-$24/hr
Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for conducting routine testing and maintaining accurate records in compliance with laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. This position supports the manufacturing process and ensures the timely delivery of products to customers by performing independent testing, equipment calibration, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare testing materials and perform routine independent testing using laboratory instruments, such as Instron, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, viscosity meters, and other lab equipment.
Identify problems during analysis and document observations.
Maintain accurate test records and initiate investigations for non-conforming materials and test results.
Perform daily calibration/verification checks on laboratory instruments.
Collect and prepare data for evaluation and archive completed test documentation.
Support laboratory housekeeping and adhere to environmental and safety policies.
Comply with job-specific safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Participate in quality system compliance and support LEAN, Six Sigma, and Maintenance Excellence initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a GMP laboratory environment.
Skills: Knowledge of GMP and ISO standards, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
Technical Abilities: Proficient in laboratory techniques, including instrument usage and data analysis.
