What we need

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to play a vital role in our organization. This onsite position involves performing diverse accounting tasks, maintaining precise financial records, and supporting seamless financial operations. As a key contributor, you will directly impact the success of Tamarack Holdings and its family of businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
  • Manage vendor payments, including processing invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and adhering to payment schedules.
  • Handle customer payments by generating and distributing accurate sales invoices and monitoring receivables for timely collections.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and customers by addressing payment inquiries and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper transaction recording.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts.
  • Prepare audit documentation and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform special projects and financial analyses as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Teams.
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA (a plus).
  • Experience in food manufacturing or distribution (preferred).

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to address accounting discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in managing vendor and customer payment processes, including sales invoicing and collections.
