Controller:

Does an opportunity to oversee a bank’s financial health interest you?  We’re working with a well-established, multi-billion-dollar community bank seeking a talented  Controller  to support their Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversee their accounting operations.  As a  Controller , you will play a key role in managing the bank’s finances, maintaining fiscal integrity, and leading a team within the accounting department.  This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Oversee and execute daily operations and functions of the Accounting Department to include accounts payable and funds management, ensuring effective and efficient use of time and resources
• Support the CFO in managing finance and accounting activities.
• Provide leadership direction and mentorship to include fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continual professional growth to the accounting department.
• Team leadership of three direct reports: an Assistant Controller and two Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Monitor accuracy in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Oversee monthly reconciliation completion and review.
• Guarantee the department's compliance with FDICIA requirements and maintain effective internal controls in the financial reporting process.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting which will support business decisions for the entirety of the bank.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in an accounting-related role.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred. Banking experience preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor staff.
• Strong expertise in financial analysis and regulatory reporting.
