Job Overview:
The Expediter serves as a critical liaison between the kitchen and service staff, ensuring seamless communication and efficient delivery of high-quality meals to guests.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Verify that food orders are complete, accurate, and delivered promptly to guests.
- Maintain a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Support kitchen operations by assisting with light food prep, plating, garnishing, and organizing orders.
- Restock supplies and maintain an organized work area during service.
- Address real-time challenges, such as missing components, delayed dishes, or special requests, to uphold efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor wait times for food tickets and ensure timely preparation and delivery.
- Collaborate with front-of-house and back-of-house teams to provide accurate menu explanations, including ingredients, allergy considerations, and special dietary needs.
- Understand menu ingredients to maintain production control and ensure consistency in freshness, plating, and presentation standards.
- Assist with food deliveries as needed.
- Ensure each plate is meticulously finalized before leaving the kitchen, including garnishing and verifying adherence to established specifications.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager(s).
Wage Information:
The salary range for this position is $20.29 to $27.17. The starting hourly rate is $20.29. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.
Qualifications:
- Refined verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of culinary and restaurant operations.
- Related hotel experience is preferred.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Flexible availability, weekends and holidays preferred.
