Job Summary

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: •    Work with multi-discipline teams to develop design materials for project assignments for heavy civil works projects such as generation, power infrastructure (transmission, distribution, substations), solar, wind, dams, buried infrastructure, tunnels, etc.  •    Perform analysis, design calculations, design sketches, and preparing geotechnical design reports to meet project requirements •    Perform, coordinate, and manage geotechnical field investigations •    Coordinate, manage, observe, and document geotechnical construction activities such as grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, retaining walls, etc.

This team has a portfolio of major civil works projects across the country that are moving the needle. They are seeking ownership-driven technical professional who thrives in a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and kindness that focuses on the goal to be the most innovative company in the civil consulting industry. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Focuses on the coordinating internal teams and resources while working to understand client’s interest and needs •    Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details for projects such as power generation facilities, substations, transmission lines, solar sites, dams, canals, flood control projects, municipal water, wastewater, and pipelines •    Planning, designing, and overseeing geotechnical aspects for projects both in the office and in the field. •    Be able to travel on field assignments as required. Field time is estimated at 20 and 40%.

Preferred Qualifications

•    3+ years of experience supporting geotechnical/heavy civil projects  •    Experience with geotechnical investigations, grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, and retaining walls •    Prefer Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with Emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering •    Active Engineering-In-Training (EIT) Preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

  • Active Engineering-In-Training (EIT) License

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Hybrid Work Schedule (3 days in Office/2 days in Remote).

Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).  Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
