This position supports the prototyping and production of precision-machined products in a fast-paced environment.
Opportunities are available for first, second, and third shifts, with a 15% pay differential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and align CNC lathe, mill, and 5-axis machines to precise tolerances.
- Perform basic TruePath and/or Mastercam operations as required.
- Inspect finished tools and analyze results to ensure conformity with specifications.
- Consult with supervisors, engineers, and tooling departments to determine appropriate cutting tools and setups.
- Maintain fixtures and setups for assigned projects, ensuring proper documentation and usage.
- Monitor machine performance and promptly report and address any operational issues.
- Perform daily and preventative maintenance on machines, including oil, coolant, and filtration system checks.
- Document all operations and inspections in accordance with quality standards and manuals.
- Support overall shop efficiency by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Coordinate shared equipment usage with other machinists.
- Demonstrate a safety-first attitude and report any hazards or incidents.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support team objectives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. An associate degree in machining or an approved apprenticeship program is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a CNC mill and/or lathe operator, including basic setup.
- Knowledge of GD&T, ANSI Y 14.5, and blueprint reading. Experience with metrology tools is preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with ERP software (Epicor experience is helpful).
- Understanding of trigonometry and advanced machining principles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds safely and work in physically demanding environments, including standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
