Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Prior Student Information System or similar experience required
- PowerSchool experience required
- Knowledge of Infinite Campus; ESchools, PeopleSoft, Skyward, FACTS, and similar tools desired
- Knowledge of school operations
- Knowledge of the school SIS annual cycle
- Excellent understanding data, data analysis and reporting
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
- After offer is accepted, satisfactory background check as required by state law and the South Carolina Department of Education

Position Specifics
Th Registrar articulates a clear understanding of classical, liberal arts education, the instructional approach, and philosophy While the Registrar reports to the Headmaster, he or she must work closely and collaboratively with all office staff members to fulfill an array of responsibilities as needed
Duties And Responsibilities
The registrar is responsible for modeling, implementing, and continuously improving in the following areas and scope of work:
- In collaboration with the home office student information system “SIS” manager, assist with ensuring accurate operation of the lottery and registration systems, currently using PowerSchool
- Assist the SIS manager with accurate reporting of all authorizer-required data submissions utilizing the SIS
- Oversee grades in the student information system, including ensuring teachers have set up gradebooks correctly and completed accurately
- Finalize and communicate to families about completed grades
- Responsible for compilation and maintenance of electronic school records and physical student files, including grades, immunization records, health information, emergency contacts, and demographic information
- Protect confidentiality and maintain student records and information in a manner consistent with all applicable administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Manage student file transfer requests between Ascent Classical Academy and other schools
- Create and maintain class lists and rosters in SIS and other systems
- Process recommendations and requests by administrators, teachers, or parents related to class lists and rosters in collaboration with administrative authority
- Review and respond to all communications from new or interested families within 24 hours
- Responsible for all aspects of prospective family communications including tours, classroom visits, and e-mail or phone communications
- Support administration with assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations to prospective families
- Serve as ambassador for Ascent Classical Academies to the community, including coordinating community events as needed
- Coordinate events to promote and preserve school culture, including field trips, curriculum events, and assemblies
- Ensure accurate and professionally written communications to parents
