Our eCommerce Tech team in Enderby are looking for experienced front-end developers to join the team! 

About the Team

Our eCommerce   team at Head Office is responsible for developing and managing our Next and Total Platform websites and mobile applications. These are all built in-house and then deployed and managed by our central support teams.

You will be working in the user interface optimisation team alongside other developers with a strong skill set in front-end web development. This team focuses on continual delivery of functionality, and our strategic delivery roadmap with a focus on Conversion Rate Optimsation (CRO), A/B testing and analysis to allow us to continue to further improve our customer journey.

About the Role

As a front-end   developer, you will be working in an agile team alongside other developers to build upon our quality centric eCommerce platform.

You will be responsible for developing and enhancing the user interface of our online platform and will have the opportunity to develop new features , expand our skill set and improve our platform in line with the future road map. The enterprise platform is currently used to drive numerous sites, serving millions of users worldwide.

As a passionate developer you'll have a keen mindset to improve, you’ll enjoy working as part of a team. Comfortable with modern technologies and tooling, you’ll use best practices to improve the user experience and efficiency of development teams.

You will help provide development support to internal users, as well as offering out-of-hours cover during seasonal events and busy trading periods. You’ll also use your expertise and experience to help us continually improve our processes and working practices, actively enabling the department to become as efficient and effective as it can be.

Essential Criteria

  • Able to speak, read and write English at a level that enables you to complete your role, for example, to understand instructions and communicate effectively with stakeholders and/or other team members
  • Experienced in working effectively in a collaborative manner in a large scale, fast paced environment within a multifunctional technical team
  • Strong experience of standard front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Exposure to modern Javascript frameworks and libraries such as React
  • Source control with Git
  • Awareness and practice of UI performance and accessibility best practices
  • A desire to write readable, maintainable, modular and extendable code
  • Experience in developing on a responsive site with multiple viewports.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving aptitude
  • Understanding of the Agile methodologies and best practices

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in an Agile team
  • Experience with ADO
  • Experience with the Monetate platform
  • An understanding of service-oriented architecture
