NMS has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager. As a candidate for this position, you will lead, manage, and monitor accounting functions, and will be responsible for managing and supervising the accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, this key role is responsible for managing general accounting functions including, but not limited to, cash prepaids, fixed assets, inventory, intangibles, intercompany, accrued expenses, deferrals, payroll and related fringe benefits, taxes, equity, cost of sales and operating expenses. Position will ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results are accurate, timely, and complete. Key liaison with the business to explain the financial results to senior management and auditors.
*Qualifications include but not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field with 5+ years of accounting leadership experience. Professional accounting designation (CPA or CMA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the merchant services and credit card processing industry and related products
- Public Accounting experience and/or working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
- Strong management, organizational, team building, coaching and mentoring skills.
- Experience using bank electronic cash management reporting systems desirable.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Windows based computer applications (0365, Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, and Outlook) and MAS 500 a significant plus.
- Possess above average Excel and/or modeling skills to perform financial analysis, as required (familiarity with SQL, Tableau, and other data analysis tools is a plus)
*Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead the accounting team to ensure that all work is completed accurately according to scheduled deadlines with proper documentation and attention to quality standards, priorities, and overall team and company goals.
- Mentor and coach the accounting team, lead and manage various projects.
- Ensure PCI compliance procedures for department are followed.
- Create and oversee the use of standard process workflows by the accounting team to minimize errors and improve efficiency.
- Train and mentor team members and identify development needs across the team, and pursue additional training, as needed, with senior management.
- Enhance understanding and implementation of strategic goals established.
- Track various productivity and performance standards to ensure that established levels are achieved, especially during critical activity periods.
- Supervise daily banking activity and review and approve recording of daily banking transactions for NMS bank accounts including operating, money market, convenience fee, and reserve accounts with Capital One, Webster Bank and Bank United and oversee their monthly reconciliations.
- Download Excel version of bank statements, filter, sort and add pivot tables to record banking transactions more efficiently, particularly large volume (convenience fee) transactions.
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Review and approve accounting transactions/activities including cash management, accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, residuals, disbursements, accruals, and general journal entries. At times, perform these functions when needed.
- Monitor usage of company credit cards and review and approve recording of transactions noting proper authorization, documentation, and business purpose.
- Review and obtain proper documentation prior to approval of payment of all expenses including vendor, agent, employee and intercompany.
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage SOX, Audit and SEC Filing responsibilities.
The salary range for the role is $115,000 - $135,000 per year.
