Job Description:

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, capable of driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis:

o Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.

o Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

o Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements and monthly cash flow reporting.

o Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

o Administer company benefit programs including 401K, Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Workers' Compensation, AFLAC, and all other benefit programs.

o Manage Relationships for company insurance, CPA, and banking.

o Oversee payroll, HR reporting, and compliance.

o Oversee all company insurance reporting

o Oversee annual bank audit

o Analyze and provide financial statements ready for annual review.

Accounting and Reporting:

o Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

o Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.

o Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

o Prepare and file tax returns in a timely and accurate manner in coordination with CPA.

o Implement and maintain strong internal controls.

o Assess customer credit limits and provide leadership with receivables management

Team Leadership:

o Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals.

o Recruit, hire, and develop talent.

o Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Operational Finance:

o Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.

o Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs.

o Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions.

Risk Management:

o Identify and mitigate financial risks, including fraud, operational, and compliance risks.

o Implement robust risk management procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CMA preferred).

• 10+ years of relevant experience as a Controller in a consumer products company.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Advanced knowledge of accounting software and systems (e.g., ERP, budgeting tools).

• Microsoft GP or Cavallo/Salespad experience preferred.

• Experience in ADP Workforce Now or similar HR and payroll software.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced level proficiency in Excel.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy.

Reports to: CEO

Location: Moorpark, CA 93021

Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday- Friday

Start Date: March 2025

Salary: $120K - $140K depending on experience

Employee Type: Salaried, exempt, full-time, hybrid (3 days in office)
