Job Summary: In this role, you will perform maintenance and repair of customer and company owned construction equipment in the field at various job sites, servicing Wooster and surrounding areas. What can I expect to do as a Field Technician?
- Effectively diagnose problems, troubleshoot, and determine necessary repairs or services
- Meet or exceed projected service times
- Explain service and repair work to customers while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance
- Meet all company, governmental and equipment-specific inspections (annual, frequent inspections)
- Test equipment after service/repair completion to ensure they are functioning properly
- Complete the disassembly and inspection of equipment efficiently
- Identify necessary parts needed for repair and support parts department as needed.
- Provide detailed and clear service reports to Service Manager or appropriate parties.
- Maintain clean driving record
- Maintain all tools and equipment used during service calls along with your company vehicle both on and off business hours
- Execute the completion of required training and be open to continued training
- Maintain a safe working environment (including wearing required PPE at all times)
- Operate equipment and maintain all company required certifications.
- Safe and effective communication with dispatch and other team members.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior mechanical knowledge/experience
- Ability to reach electrical and hydraulic schematics
- High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
- Valid and clean driving record
- Basic computer knowledge
- Abstract reasoning and the ability to "think on the fly"
- Ability and flexibility to work on multiple lines of equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate and understand job assignments
- Ability working in collaboration with various team members
- Show a clear understanding of equipment safety
