Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

We seek an experienced and detail-oriented  Senior Accountant to join a dynamic real estate investment industry team. The ideal candidate will be key in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis

    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with GAAP standards.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial records and reports.

  2. Accounts Management

    • Manage the reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy.
  3. Compliance and Regulatory Reporting

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    • Prepare and file regulatory reports, including audits and tax returns.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Analyze variances and recommend strategies to improve financial performance.
    • Provide insights and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  5. Process Improvement

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in accounting operations.
    • Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  6. Collaboration and Leadership

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial objectives.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred or actively pursuing.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
