The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate GL records by preparing month-end reconciliations and supporting schedules. Meticulously identifies and resolve reconciling items promptly. Additionally, the Senior Accountant handles various journal entries covering cash, AP, accrued expenses, etc. Collaborating closely with Fortis site locations, they ensure accurate intercompany transaction reconciliation for month-end financial reporting while supporting year-end audits, document financial close processes for control, manage acquisition-related entries, and track corporate cost allocations. The Senior Accountant also assist with internal ad-hoc reporting, contributing to overall financial operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations and supporting schedules to support GL recording. Timely identify reconciling items and resolve
  • Prepare journal entries in various areas, including but not limited to cash, AP, accrued expenses, payroll, AR, debt, stock- based compensation, lease, goodwill, intangibles and related amortization, fixed assets, and prepaids
  • Partner with each Fortis site location to track and timely reconcile intercompany transactions. Investigate reconciling items and timely resolve issues to ensure proper month-end financial reporting
  • Work with the Company's audit firm at year-end and provide requested support
  • Document financial statement close process activities that occur to maintain effective control environment
  • Record acquisition related entries. Identify, track and record acquisition measurement period adjustments
  • Review P&L coding to ensure proper presentation of related costs
  • Track and record corporate cost allocations
  • Keeping track of month-end close checklist to ensure timely month/quarter-end close
  • Collect and provide information needed for the annual financial statement preparation
  • Assist with internal ad-hoc reporting/requests
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree a plus
  • 5-8 years of general corporate accounting experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
