Applications are invited for the post of Corrections Officer within the Department of Corrections (DOC). Under the supervision of the Divisional Officer - Operations, the post holder supervises, controls and assists inmates during all activities, including escorts and visits as per the legislation, policies and procedures that govern the Department of Corrections. The successful applicants  must  pass the following evaluations to be considered for Recruitment Class: 

• Written Test
• Physical Assessment
• Security Checks 
• Personality Evaluations
• Assessment Boards 
• Psychological Evaluations
• Medical Examinations 

The Recruitment Class lasts for twelve weeks with on the job training, academic modules, course work, exams, and practical exercises. The academic learning on this course is undertaken and coincides with serving as a Student Correction Officers, which involves active frontline duties for the Department of Corrections. 

Applicants must have a Bermuda School Diploma (BSD) or equivalent. Must be between the ages of nineteen (19) and forty-nine (49) years at the start of the contract . Applicants must be in good physical and mental health. Non-Bermudian resident work permit holders, their spouses, and applicants outside Bermuda may apply.
