The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, seeks an excellent scholar specializing in developmental psychology. Area of specialization is less important than research and teaching excellence. Our new colleague will offer our 200-level developmental psychology course, our 400-level seminar in developmental psychology, and other specialty courses within developmental psychology. An capability to teach statistics and introductory psychology would also be valuable, as would the capability to provide a psychological or neuroscientific perspective on topics that contribute to the College's General Education curriculum, including courses that contribute to students' knowledge of and appreciation for Global Challenges and Justice, Equity, Identity, and Difference. We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a high-quality research program that involves our undergraduate students. PhD by appointment date preferred. We welcome candidates with any subspecialty within developmental psychology, but we would be especially interested in scholars who study phenomena related to cultural differences, racial inequality, or under-resourced communities. The income range is $80,000-82,000, commensurate with practice. The Psychology department currently provides support for the Gender Sexuality and Women's Studies and Neuroscience programs. Teaching load is two courses per ten-week trimester, six courses per academic year.
