ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - BECKER CAREER CENTER
Associate Director - Becker Career Center manager: Executive Director of the Career Center Position Purpose: Supports the Center's mission to provide distinctive career educational programs and services. Advises students and alumni with their career planning and development through individual appointments. Assists in developing and implementing career readiness programming that is in alignment with the Career Center Strategic Plan. Essential Responsibilities and tasks: » Career Advising: Provides career advising to undergraduate students and alumni on aspects of career planning, internship and employment/graduate school preparation. Provides individual and group instruction on various platforms and databases to be utilized by students for career exploration, networking, and internship/job search. Engages alumni in career advancement advising, programming, and with the alumni mentor database. » Collaboration: Works closely with employer relations on cultivating employers, alumni engagement, and with consortia event planning and promotions. Assists with career fairs, employer follow-ups and other programming. Leads and sustains relationships with an academic division. Collaborates with the Executive Director in developing metrics and reporting results assessing the effectiveness of career readiness programs, technology, resources and services, and foster continual improvement. » Program Development and Training: Designs, coordinates, and presents career readiness workshops and programs that address the needs of students across all four years. Partners with faculty on specific programs, mentoring and employer visits. Assists with coordinating off campus career education and recruitment events. Evaluates effectiveness of programs/resources/technology and reports educational results. » Administration: Assists with GarnetGrove and UReady Curriculum platform management and content creation. Utilize/supervise Career adjuncts to support assigned project work. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed. Qualifications required »Bachelor's degree, three to five years of direct 1:1 career advising practice, with five to seven years of practice in a career center and/or in higher education, preferably in a private liberal arts setting, and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice. »Demonstrated familiarity with the internship and employment recruitment process. »Exceptional interpersonal and communication expertise to interact with varied constituencies (faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and employers). »Demonstrated practice to maintain high levels of confidentiality and capability to treat confidential matters/information with discretion. » capability to pay attention to details, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. »Able to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations. »Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.
