Community Director (2 Openings: 1 opening for , and 1 opening for ) Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full time manager: The Community Director for Greek Houses will report to the Associate Director for Greek leadership abilities, the Community Director for Minerva Houses will report to the Associate Director for Minerva Programs. Position Purpose: Plays a crucial function in the student practice by creating a positive and supportive living environment for students, promoting student engagement and success, and ensuring the safety and security of a housing community. supervises the day-to-day operations of a housing community ranging in size from 200-400 residential students. General responsibilities include student staff supervision and development, community development, student conduct, implementation of the residential curriculum, occupancy management, routine administration, program management, incident response, and professional development. this job offer works on site and primarily in person. The position also provides an on-campus partially furnished apartment (partners and pets permitted) with local phone, internet access, and meal allowance. Essential Responsibilities and tasks: » Community Development: Works proactively toward creating an inclusive community atmosphere in which people respect each other's rights, cultures, and sensitivities. Plans and develops intellectually engaging educational and social programs and activities. Provides accurate advice and guidance to students located on their individual needs. Holds regular office hours for students to ask questions. Attends campus community events. » Supervision: Hires, trains, and supervises 5-17 paraprofessionals (Resident Advisors/RAs or House Coordinators). Ensures continuing staff development to help student staff lgain leadership abilities expertise and mentor others. Plans weekly staff meetings and meets with each staff member individually on a routine basis. Educates all student staff about various campus resources. Manages and supports community development efforts, including the implementation of curricular engagement guides and corresponding assessments. » Health and Safety: Monitors and intervenes with students who may be struggling academically and/or with other behavioral and developmental issues. Refers accordingly to services as needed. Participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and serving as a resource or referral agent. Mediates roommate conflicts. Understands and enforces Code of Student Conduct and other policies regarding behavior, safety, security, health, and other matters in cooperation with the appropriate offices. Serves as a campus judicial hearing agent. » Building Management: Coordinates, maintains, and monitors assigned residence hall(s), including opening and closing procedures. Facilitates regular health and safety inspections in the residence hall. Ensures damages are reported and documented to the facilities department. Routinely walks assigned residential areas to check for any facilities issues and submits work orders as needed. » Administration: Holds regular office hours to address student and staff needs. Manages the budget for assigned staff, allocating resources to support programming, events, and operational expenses. Attends campus community events. Serves on college committees as assigned. Assists with administrative office tasks. Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables. Qualifications required »Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice. »Strong interpersonal and communication expertise. » capability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. » capability to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations. »Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow staff colleagues. » capability to proactively identify and pursue significant learning and professional development opportunities and apply new expertise, insights, and expertise to enhance results. The annual income for this job offer is $51,480.00.
