Listing description The Financial Aid Advisor (FAA) has strong people expertise and a desire to support students through their academic journey by providing clear and timely information about all available federal and state financial aid options and school-located scholarships. The Financial Aid Advisor is expertiseable about financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and educational costs. Under the supervision of the Director, the Advisor responds to questions, inquiries and requests from prospective and current students that come by phone, through email, in-person, or live chat. They maintain the office appointment and workshop calendars of virtual and on-campus events. They assist students and families by providing accurate information located on research and analysis of specific situations while adhering to confidentiality protocols. The FAA assists the Associate Director with the Work-Study program, responding to questions about eligibility, processing student employment paperwork, monitoring earnings, and tracking FWS expenditures. The Advisor is responsible for the everyday support services delivered through the Financial Aid Department and can direct students to other staff, offices, or services as appropriate. The FAA participates in regular staff trainings to maintain currency with federal and state financial aid regulations and policies. Participation in College admissions and financial aid weekend and evening events on both campuses as needed. General Requirements: Education Required: Associate's degree or higher in a related field. practice Required: One year of financial aid or financial services practice providing direct service to students, clients or customers. Excellent customer service expertise. practice with Microsoft Office suite, managing online calendars, creating and utilizing spreadsheets and analyzing reports; strong verbal and written communication expertise. Preferred expertise, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: »Bachelor's degree »Community college financial aid or student services practice » capability to effectively establish and maintain working relationship with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public » capability to manage multiple projects »Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites »Bilingual expertise, fluency in Spanish Additional Information: Deadline for Applying: July 3, 2023 Position begins ASAP income: $43,446-$57,566 per annum.
