A Claims Adjuster works closely with counsel to respond to damage claims, subpoenas, and property damage claims. A Claims Adjuster also supports collecting all damages to the Company’s facilities and manages litigation files. Title/level is commensurate with practice. What does a Claims Adjuster do? Under supervision and with the opportunity for independent action and judgment: »Investigates claims for auto, property damage and bodily injuries and manages claims and litigation case files »Retrieves data and documentation from Company records to respond to and assist with subpoenas, litigations, and requests of attorneys »Works closely with local attorneys on files assigned including attending depositions, court conferences, mediations, etc. »Provides guidance and assistance to Company personnel regarding claims matters »Provides support for storm/emergency restoration efforts What does it take to be a Claims Adjuster? Required: »Associate’s degree and previous practice in claims, insurance, legal defense work or a related field. In lieu of an associate’s degree, a high school diploma or equivalency degree and 2+ years of related practice. »Proficiency and practice with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the capability to lgain new computer software programs quickly »Well-developed written and verbal communication expertise »Strong interpersonal, investigative and negotiation expertise »Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking expertise with a high level of attention to detail » capability to work independently and quickly in a timely manner » capability to work and respond during non-traditional hours as needed »Valid driver’s license Preferred: »Field of study in business administration, legal studies, criminal justice, or a related field »General expertise of and/or practice with civil litigation Applications will be accepted until November 11, 2022.
