Job Summary The Public Safety Sergeant provides supervision of shift including responsibility for assigning and coordinating agent tasks, evaluation of everyday patrol activity and reports, productivity reports, special events, conflict resolution, emergency response and law enforcement coordination. Minimum Qualifications • Requires 60 credits from an accredited college or 30 credits and an honorable discharge from the military o significant law enforcement managery practice may substitute for a portion of the education requirements • Four years of practice in safety/law enforcement • Must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license • Must be available for flexible shift scheduling significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities • Requires clear and effective verbal and written expertise • Requires capability to effectively deal with multiple emergency situations • Requires excellent customer relation expertise • Requires critical decision making • Requires capability to effectively supervise staff and resources • Requires the capability to utilize PC and the applications connected with Windows Office and job specific software Shift Public Safety: Various Shifts TravelLocal travel between campus locations only Driving Driving a Rensselaer vehicle for non-passenger use Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $26.00 - $27.04 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
