Maintenance

Position Overview: The Park Place Hotel, a historic icon in Traverse City, is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to fill a full-time opening. This position ensures the upkeep, functionality, and safety of the hotel’s facilities, preserving our 1930s charm while addressing the modern needs of our guests. Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff to ensure a smooth operation.
• Inspect and maintain building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Conduct general repairs, including painting, carpentry, and fixture replacements.
• Ensure public areas, guest rooms, and hotel grounds are in top condition.
• Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report any hazardous conditions immediately.
• Assist with special projects or emergencies as needed.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair work.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing, bending, and kneeling.
• Previous maintenance experience in a hotel or similar environment is preferred but not required.
