Job Summary The Business Administrator (BA) or Sr. Business Administrator (Sr. BA) will supervise assigned business unit(s) in the Division of Research. The incumbent will be responsible for following Institute and sponsor guidelines for spending, budgeting and matching funds, as well as responsible for preparing complex financial reports. The BA or Sr. BA is responsible for providing budgets and forecasts, monitoring education & general, designated, and/or restricted funds, and for the preparation of other specific information, analyses, and reports as required by portfolio leadership abilities and faculty investigators. The Administrator provides timely processing, proactive management and proper open communication to keep PIs aware of fund status to ensure compliance at all levels at all times. As a Sr. BA, the incumbent would be assigned to multiple and/or more complex business units to provide complete support to and management of grant, award, and all applicable fund types within center(s), providing administrative, accounting, complete proposal assistance, budgeting, active reporting, final reporting. The Sr. BA makes strategic recommendations to Principal Investigators (PIs) regarding award management. Minimum Qualifications Business Administrator candidates must have a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field and three (3) years of significant practice to include one (1) year of work practice in the administration, monitoring and management of research and/or other closely related types of restricted funds. Candidates must be familiar with federal and state government regulations as they pertain to research administration. In addition to the above, as a Sr. Business Administrator, candidates must have five (5) years of significant practice to include three (3) years of work practice in the administration, monitoring and management of research and/or other closely related types of restricted funds. significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered.
