Ten Broeck Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, a 258-bed skilled nursing facility located in the scenic Hudson Valley, is seeking a Diet Tech/Diet Clerk to join our growing team. Summary: Diet Tech/Diet Clerk assist professional Registered Dietitian by performing standardized nutritional care tasks such as summarizing and maintaining records of patients' diets, providing information on diets and food preparation to residents and their families, and consulting with facility staff regarding changes in patient's diets. They perform some tasks which are similar to those performed by Dietitians; however, these tasks are performed under the guidance and direction of a Registered Dietitian or Nutrition Services Administrator. Responsibilities: »Provide dietary services in conformity with company guideline, state, and federal laws and regulations. »Prepares and maintains patients' dietary histories as part of their nutritional care and overall treatment plans. »Records current diet plans prescribed by the physician as well as modified diet orders written by the physician. »Regularly prepares a census showing the number of patients under each diet plan available. »Other tasks as assigned. Dietitian expertise: »Education/Training/Certification/Licensure: »High school graduate or equivalent. »Graduate of Dietetic adjunct/Technician Program preferred. »One (1) year food service practice preferred. »Basic expertise of normal and therapeutic nutrition » prosperous completion of site personnel general orientation. » prosperous completion of department specific orientation Physical General Requirements: »Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50lbs »Must be able to bend, lift, transport equipment. »Must be able to use a computer.
