Business Operating Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Job Summary: The Yard Supervisor oversees and maintains the daily operations of the Rental yard while ensuring safety and compliance standards are met. In addition, they will maintain equipment inventory, supervise yard personnel, conduct basic preventative maintenance on rental equipment, and provide effective customer service while ensuring the timely resolution of customer complaints. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Operations
  • Supervisor yard team and assign/delegate tasks accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Rental, Sales, Service, and Parts departments to ensure smooth operation of yard activities.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are implemented and followed in the yard.
  • Maintaining Equipment and Inventory
  • Support technicians in equipment maintenance by performing basic preventative maintenance services and repairs on the rental equipment
  • Oil changes, filter changes, fluid changes, etc.
  • Monitor rental yard inventory and incoming and outgoing equipment needs.
  • Maintain records and reports and all necessary administrative tasks related to yard activities
  • Customer Relations
  • Effectively communicate with customers to greet, build rapport, ask questions, and offer advice while assisting in the loading and unloading of equipment.
  • Ensure effective customer relations and timely resolution of complaints
  • Collaboration
  • Partners with Sales and other departments ensuring customer service standards are met or exceeded, including prompt pick-up or delivery of customer product.
  • Open communication with location manager and other department heads regarding challenges, possible solutions and operational impacts.
  • Coordinate with yard team, drivers, and other coworkers to ensure the effective delivery and pickup of equipment.
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
  • Acceptable Driving Record
  • Basic knowledge of various heavy equipment;
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions;
  • Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills
  • Have a basic mechanical aptitude or the ability to understand and learn basic preventative maintenance repairs.
  • Superior customer service and teamwork skills
  • Safety oriented.
