Operations Manager

Southern Pines Trucking, Inc. is seeking a detail oriented, problem solving, career minded individual to join our team as an Operations Manager based at our Wampum, PA Facility located just north of Pittsburgh. This is not an equipment maintenance position.

Southern Pines Trucking Tanker Division delivers industry-leading cryogenic service to customers across the continental United States and Canada. With a commitment to safety and service, Southern Pines builds long lasting relationships that add value to its cryogenic partners while delivering their product safely every day. Industries served include aerospace & space exploration, asphalt, automotive, chemicals & refining, electronics, food & beverage, healthcare, pipeline integrity, and steel mills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Develop and cultivate relationships with drivers and customers through direct interaction. Manage and direct daily activities of drivers. Provide excellent customer service to clients and drivers. Educate, promote, and exhibit safe practices at all times. Sell, recruit, and retain new customers and drivers. Attention to detail and the ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Communicate openly and effectively with team members across all disciplines of the organization. Secures, organizes and assigns loads to drivers in a manner designed to maximize efficiency and quality of performance. Gives appropriate routing directions and scheduling instructions for pick-ups and deliveries. Instructs guides, supervises, motivates and evaluates drivers and driver trainees regarding the daily performance of their assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable Company policies and procedures. Can make recommendations to management with respect to driver's performance. Maintains and reviews total and per driver shipping revenues earned on a daily basis.

What YOU Need to Succeed: Prior transportation and industrial gas experience preferred but not required. Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office and other software programs. Customer service, detailed oriented, and sense of urgency mentality Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
